Fp-info-cache keeps getting corrupted

System Info:
Windows 10 build 19042
64 bit
KiCad 5.1.10

I have had several projects that use the same libraries and the fp-info-cache keeps getting corrupted.
Has anyone else ran into this problem?

When fp-info-cache crashes, the footprint editor displays the footprint libraries, but they all are empty.
shutting down KiCad and deleting the fp-info-cache fixes the issue.

This issue seems to randomly happen. I haven’t found the cause of this issue yet.

Edit:
It looks like opening the Symbol editor after opening the Footprint editor corrupts the file.
The file seems to corrupt as soon as KiCad is closed.

Can you post the exact steps you took here

First, this is in a project with a project specific library for both footprints and symbols.

  1. Delete the fp-info-cache file
  2. Open the footprint editor - all the footprints load
  3. Close the footprint editor
  4. Close Kicad
  5. Re-open Kicad
  6. Open the footprint editor - all the libraries are visible but do not have any footprints in them.
