For some step files, the 3D step file created in KiCad is strange

There are some strange cases when generating 3D steo files.

  1. I created a library using switches from ALPS.
There was no problem when viewing through 3D View,
The 3D files generated in 7.0.7 and 7.0.10 were different.
(In 7.0.10 and higher, the generated 3D was rotated 90 degrees.)

ExportedStep_7.0.7
ExportedStep_8.0.0
(The last 3D is Capture is created at 8.0.0)

  1. The LED 3D Step file is downloaded at 3dcontentcentral.
For the green LED, the generated 3D file has different colors.

I don’t know why this happens.
However, for some 3D files, what you see in the 3D view and the result of creating the 3D file are different.
(If necessary, we will create and upload the corresponding library.)

SMD_Tact_Switch_3.9x2.9x2H_SKRKAH.STEP (836.3 KB)
User Library-LED0603_GREEN.step (192.8 KB)

Most step files I’ve downloaded did not have the same orientation as the default Kicad. The issue is easily handled by using the Footprint Properities 3D screen.

There you can rotate the image, scale and move orthogonally.

The reason I posted here is because even if I use the same footprint library, the results are different depending on the version of KICAD.

That sounds like a bug, if you could hang the STEP file here, we could try to reproduce it and help you to report it if necessary.

I’d already attached the 3d step files.

please check the last part of my post.
