Footprints not visible in PCB editor

Question: When I update the PCB from the schematic after having made changes to the latter (i.e., adding components with footprints associated), I get what looks like a proper update but with invisible footprints. It looks proper, because the rats nest is shown:

When I save the PCB layout and close & reopen the PCB editor, the footprints have become visible:

My error somewhere? Bug?

Thorny macOS-specific bug. Fixed in nightlies, but I don’t know if the fix will be backported to an 8.0.x release.
