Footprinteditor User-Layer 5 and above

Hello there,

in KiCad8 I had stored some data in my footprints in user layers 5 and 6. When I wanted to do this in KiCad9 as well, I noticed that in the KiCad9 footprint editor the user layers only go up to 4.

How can I activate the other user layers?

Strangely, I can enter something via Settings → Footprint Editor → Default setting for new footprints → Default text elements of new footprints in e.g. user.layer5, which is also displayed.
But nothing is displayed in the drop-down menu for the layer when I click on the created object in user.layer 5. (can’t add more pictures because this is my first post  )

How can I activate the other user layers?

You have to write a bugfix for this gitlab issue: Footprint Editor: Layers User.5 to User.9 are missing (#20022) · Issues · KiCad / KiCad Source Code / kicad · GitLab

Ok, thank you for your answer, I will write a bugfix report about this issue.

There is already a report open (see link above), no need to open another report about the same topic.

The bugfix itself is needed.

sorry, yeah I commented on my problem in your posted link :slightly_smiling_face:
