I have a LED pipe layout footprint + 3D model that use 4 LEDs. The current layout footprint include 8 pads 2 for each LED. For pick an place is necessary to place the LEDs independently, also the BOM needs to include all parts: light pipe and 4 LEDs.
What is the best practice to accomplish such thing for schematic and PCB symbol?

Use a separate footprint for each LED.
Include the light pipe as a separate item on the schematic.
And while you have the light pipe as a separate item (on schematic and BOM…
You can draw a footprint for the light pipe and place it on the PCB too.
The courtyard may be useful, and you can also add some alignment marks for where the leds need to be.
Main thing is though, use a separate “part” for each “part”. (Schematic symbol, Footprint, BOM entry).
