Footprint editor rectangle tool not working in KiCad 8-rc2

The rectangle drawing tool works correctly in Schematic, Symbol & PCB editors, but will only create squares in the Footprint Editor. Didn’t work for 8.0.0 - rc2 dated the 24th Jan. Still not working for the 28th Jan download.

Works correctly in all four editors for 7.0.10.

Could I have confirmation of this problem please.

Build settings:

The rectangle tool behaves differently with n*45 deg mode on or off, IIRC. Not very intuitive.

Same behavior in the PCB editor.

Same behavior in 7.0.10.
I’d probably never noticed because I usually use the graphic polygon tool.

Agree also (trying to keep my comment polite).
