Foorprint ${REFERNCE} property on F.Fab is always visible

It seems that footprints get a default ${REFERENCE} property on the F.Fab layer that is default visible. That’s fine.

If, however, I instantiate that footprint on a PCB, I can’t turn it invisible from the “Footprint Properties” dialog box in the PCB Editor. I can make visible/invisible Reference on F.Silkscreen, Value on F.Fab, Footprint on F.Fab, Datasheet on F.Fab, and Description on F.Fab.

However, I do not have a way to make the ${REFERENCE} property on the F.Fab layer visible/invisble short of editing the footprint (which will turn on/off the property for all instances).

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

You can select it on the fab layer and press delete to turn it invisible. Under Edit > Text and Graphics Properties you can also bulk edit the properties for text.
