First timer, first project, need files for 4pin audio jack

Hello group,
Just installed KiCAD under Ubuntu 3.19.0-26-generic.
My first project, first component, fails. I couldn’t find a
component for a 4pin audio jack. So I need to know how
to import the needed files for a 4pin audio jack? Also
need rj11 socket.

There is a large library stash created by other KiCAD users here:

but if I were you, I’d take a look at the datasheet, make an EESchema part in my own “user.lib” and then footprint in “footprints.pretty” (or whatever it’s called, I can’t remember). If this is your first time, I recommend looking over the EESchema and PCBNew manuals on part creation, and remember that it gets easier the more parts you do. Soon you’ll be making simple parts in under 5 minutes or so! :smile:
