Finished first kicad layout, please check my work

Hey everyone, I just finished my first board in kicad and I’m getting ready to send it to a fab shop. Will someone check the layout for obvious mistakes. I know a few points I could improve but I think this will suffice.

It’s a 1 sq.in layout w an RF transceiver, motor controller, and mcu. I’ll put everything including code for the microcontroller on git once the circuit is working.

A few observations:

  • You use 5mil tracks, which seems unusually (maybe even unnecessarily) narrow.
  • The via dims seem to be off, especially since you use via-in-pad. Typical would be sth. like 25/13.

Thank you. I doubled the track width (0.254 mm) and reduced via sizes to (0.7mm/0.35mm), next layout will use standard sizes.

*edits were made on windows which made the files unable to be opened on my ubuntu box (still trying to compile a more recent kicad from source w not much luck)

Looks much nicer (works with linux here [bzr 5398]).

There are a few warnings about unconnected pads though.
