I just wanted to mention that the libraries included on the Fedora package - version 5.1.9 are really outdated with many missing components. And example of this is the PCIe symbol, while footprints are present the symbol is missing even if it is available at https://kicad.github.io/symbols/Connector
On the other hand I would like to know if there is any way to update the libraries automatically from git…

Originally I thought that this would be the right place to ask this but then I started to think that it could be an issue of the package maintainer just to discover that there was not issue at all and that the package contents were the expected ones. 
Anyway to answer my second question I think that download libraries directly with Kicad is not anymore available. What I have done is to clone manually the lbs from github and set them manually.
