Fedora COPR CI status?

Hello,

is Fedora COPR build broken in Jenkins? http://ci.kicad.org/view/KiCad%20builds/job/fedora-kicad-copr-nightlies There seems to be a problem related to switching from bazaar to git. Are there any plans to fix it? Is it possible to contribute a fix somehow?

Regards,

Vlad

You might have more luck over at the bugtracker. (There are only a few developers who visit this forum regularly.)

Please do if you can, Fedora is just not that common in the KiCad universe, most PCB designers value stability more than leading edge

Well, to fix it, someone has to log in into the build server, run git reset --hard and change the build script a little.

Would you volunteer for that? If so just ask at over at the mailing list or in the bugtracker if and how you can help out with this problem. (But be warned: You might also get the responsibility to manage all releases for fedora not just the copr repo for the nightly builds.)

I bet the reason why this copr died 7 month ago is because the person who originally maintained it has no time for it anymore.

The person maintaining COPR build has replied, I have sent a PR and now build fails differently after about an hour of compilation because of a different problem. This is a problem of KiCad itself and I have sent a patch there as well (https://bugs.launchpad.net/kicad/+bug/1679795)

Hopefully this will be solved soon. Often all it takes to fix these build issues is for someone who is familiar with the OS and distribution to help the developers sort things out.

A fix was pushed to KiCad master and although jenkins is still red most builds work — https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/g/kicad/kicad/build/538656/

Fedora 26 build failure seems to be related to CORP build environment and not KiCad itself.
