Fab layers missing in PCB Editor

I hereby certify that I am not simply asking someone else to design a footprint for me.

This is an auto-generated message that is in place on the “footprints” section of the KiCad.info forum. If I remove it and ask for a footprint to be designed anyway, I understand that I will be subject to forum members telling me to go design my own footprint or referring me to a 3rd party footprint site.

Hi,

I’m learning KiCad via Shawn Hymel’s youtube tutorials. I’m on part 7 at 13:07 in the video (An Intro to KiCad – Part 7: Board Layout | DigiKey - YouTube) where he moves the “BS-7” label. I tried many different ways to move this, but couldn’t. After checking the footprint I realized it is located in the F.Fab layer. In the process of trying to figure out what layer it is in to select it, I somehow removed the F.Fab and B.Fab layers from displaying. I’m not sure if they were ever in the Appearance window, but they are not currently in it.

How do I make the Fab layers show in the appearance window and move the text in these layers?

Thanks.

Search in File-Board Setup - there are check-boxes which can hide layers.
I can’t run KiCad here to tell you exactly.

Worked perfectly, thank you! And now I can select/move the text in the F.Fab layer.
