Working on project where the client lost some design files. They have the fabrication files and also the PDF of schematic. I took care of the schematic already. I am not looking to start on the board layout. Most of the components are standard packages that I can pull from KiCAD’s library. But there are a few that I would have to make.
So here is my question, what can I do to make the creation of the footprints a little eaiser? I have gerbers and I know that KiCAD can create a layout from the gerbers. I tried this but it didn’t recognize the footprints. Is there a better way to extract out the footrprints from the gerbers?
