Exporting step file only one PCB is present

Hi all,

I’ve been working on PCB design that has two PCB’s within one file.

I often use step file export and never had issues bot now it seems to export only second PCB. I tried copy-paste to have 3 PCB’s and it exports only last one created.

Any ideas? I already checked edge cuts and redrawn the lines, no luck.

I do not have experience with this, but have you try to delete one design completly and then export the remaining one ? Then just close PCBNew without saving to get to your original file and repeat for the other design ?

KiCAD has problems when the board border is not a closed polygon AFAIK.

I am using KiCad 5.1.5 version.

I tried deleting one PCB layout and the export step, which did worked fine.

Pretty sure board border is closed so shouldn’t be issue there…

KiCad is generally not meant to have more than one board per file. So it is not really surprising that some things do not quite work when one does it that way.

You may have a try with StepUP… it should work

I wasn’t sure if StepUp was able to import 2 boards from the same file, that is great to know, thanks again!
