Exporting board as step file

I TRYING OUT KICAD V6 , in ver5 i could export boards as step fles and import into fusion300 cad
but ver 6 will i can note export only if components are step file.
is there away to set it so only step file are used in 3d model for comepondents used

In V6 you have to check “Substitute similarly named models” in the Export STEP control box.
In V5 the default was on, so KiCad just substituted STEP for WRL quietly
