Using the 3d viewer, all components show up fine. When exporting a VRML, all components show up on the board that is exported. When I export a STEP, none of the components that where custom models I made or imported export. The exporter reports: "No model for filename ‘’ for each external file. I have not seen this before because my normal workflow if Fusion360 to design a product enclosure define PCB shape and define critical locations, export a DXF >> import into KiCad design, Export STP >> import into fusion to check fit tolerances >> revise etc.
I am using KiCad 7.0.10 on windows 10.
@threewheeler7 Only because I ride a Harley 3-wheeler
Best to post one of your STP files - I’ll look into it (but, I don’t use Fuson360)…
Follow-Up:
I placed a Footprint on the PCB and Exported STEP.
I added a Dumb-Footprint and set it 3D-Model to the Exported Step. I did Not set the position - just left it offset for visual clarity…
No problem (Kicad v7.0.10)
Make sure your models are in STEP format.
