ok I have a board Im working on, and a 3D model.
when I export the 3D model to a step file, none of the pretty colors get transferred over into what solid works renders.
So I inherited this project, and messing with the 3D models isnt my role.
I started reading about step files, and everything I have read thus far says step files do not include color info.
The guys reviewing my model get this board with ugly colours, and they want me to fix it, but I have no idea how. Ive watched some youtube videos, where folks export an STEP file, then it loads a properly colored PCB in solid works, but they never seem to do anything to get the colors.
Ive selected every option in the export to step file, but have not managed to get the colors to show up when solid works loads the exported step file.
Is there another option? What am I missing?
