Hello KiCad,
I am teaching a class on electronics hardware, circuits & PCB design to high school seniors, and I really want them to appreciate the complexity and in-depth design of some PCBs. Instead of making a PowerPoint presentation and presenting it to them, I want them to view and move around a complex PCB using the layout viewer on their own laptop.
However, I don’t have any examples of complex PCBs with 8~10 layers or BGA layouts. And thus, I was wondering whether anyone had any examples of complex PCB files, and especially a PCB with a BGA layout, because there is a BGA layout on their CPU in their laptop. Any files will do really. I think this hands-on approach will get the students much more engaged and intrigued in pursuing electrical engineering.
Much Appreciated,
Teddy
Maybe one of the projects shared on the kicad website could be a start: https://kicad.org/made-with-kicad/ (This one for example: https://github.com/ciaa/Hardware/tree/master/PCB/ACC/CIAA_ACC)

In addition to Rene’s excellent suggestion, you might look at Alexis Lockwood’s design [1], which makes good use of hierarchical sheets in addition to the BGA-heavy layout.
