This might not be more than a usability issue, so I’d like to check.
New 5.1.10 install, I open an existing project and try to place a symbol. The symbol library pops up, and I start to type in the “filter”. The editor hangs (as in stops responding for several minutes)
I kill Kicad and restart. This time I scroll down and try to click on a SPST switch. The editor hangs.
I remember the earlier issue with settings getting corrupted. I delete the “kicad” folder in %APPDATA%. I restart Kicad, and try to place a symbol. The editor hangs.
I run the installer again. The editor hangs.
I remember that a complete removal was recommended earlier, and go to delete Kicad. I click on “uninstall” icon in the Start menu icon for Kicad. I am taken to the control panel where Kicad is not listed. I then go to the Windows 10 settings and click on “Apps”. Kicad is there and I am able to uninstall it. I then install a fresh copy. The editor hangs.
I wonder if I am dealing with a corrupted project. I create a new project. The editor hangs.
Kicad was working yesterday. What has changed?
Last time there was a simple fix (delete the kicad folder). Maybe I’ll get lucky again this time.
Any suggestions?
