Some time ago .cmp files were abandoned, which I can understand.
Now, it would be really nice to make use of the data contained in this file instead of having to re-assign footprints for a lot of parts.
Is the back-import button in eeschema not what you’re looking for? That still seems to work.
Yes, that is what I was looking for. Apparently this button has up to now evaded visual recognition. I hope it stays there.
