Hello
I imported the outline from Freecad into a DXF file.
With LibreCAD I deleted the unnecessary lines and holes and saved the DXF file again.
After importing into KiCad 6 and checking the design rules, I got the following error messages :
Error: The PCB has a poorly formed contour (self-intersecting) Line on Edge.Cuts
(See Kicad 6 - Board.png)
Only curve sections are affected
I also imported the DXF into EstlCam CAM software. No problem, the PCB can be cut perfectly.
Is there :
- a hidden defect in the DXF
- a problem with KiCad 6
Can KiCad 8 add new features?
Hi
I’m not sure this is correct, you have arrows at all the corners suggesting there is an issue there also.
I have seen DXF imports import a duplicate set of lines before . . . perhaps you have that ? An easy way to tell is click on one of the straight lines to select it , then Del key to delete it . . . if you still have a line in that position then you have duplicate lines.
Yes it’s true
In Freecad I had exported the 2D face to the PartDesign workshop. Error, it had to go through the Draft workshop.
When I re-imported the DXF into FreeCad, I noticed that the lines and arcs were duplicated several times.
Thanks

For Single-Line DXF’s, there are Correct settings for Import/Export for Kicad and FreeCAD.
I’ve posted them several times so will post only From FreeCAD to Kicad. You can explore settings for Kicad to FreeCAD…
