Duplicating layout in pcbnew

Hi - I have successfully designed my first KiCad board - a single MCP23017 SOIC-28 IC and its associated header. I am now going to tackle 8 of these on one board.

I have the schematics and netlist all done but over in pcbnew is there any way to carefully lay out one of the IC’s and header ad then copy this for the other 8 rather than laying out all 128 tracks to headers ?

Is there a reason you can’t use a block copy? (Drag select an outline around the components you want to copy and then right-click to get the Block Operations menu.)
