DRC indicates a fiducial as 'items not allowed in keepout area' error

Any hint to avoid this error? I set the fiducial footprint as Unspecified with no success.

There is no special checkbox for this case. So just acknowledging this error is the normal thing to do.

Additionally there is are workaround (which in itself has other disadvantages):

  • define your own fiducial and delete the courtyard-circle around the fiducial. The drc-check “item is placed on keepout-area” is based on checking the courtyard-lines.
  • if your keep-out area also includes “keep out pads” you will also have to replace the central round copper pad of the fiducial with a simple copper circle (otherwise you will get the next drc-error “pad is placed in keep out area”)

normally

Better this way. I think I can live with this error :slightly_smiling_face:

You can select the error line, right click, and select “Exclude this Violation”. You can then toggle its visibility (along with all other excluded violations) with the “Exclusions” checkbox under the list.
