Dragging around an Edge Cut

I transposed a real PCB into a schematic and then created a schematic from it. I then laid it out to reflect the real schematic (i.e. I have cloned an original)

I then realised that I should try and make it physically the same sort of size as the original so I created a square of edge cuts each 85mm long.

Now when I laid out the PCB I was a bit gung ho and my design is bigger than 85mm by 85mm so I now need to squish it…

However… I cannot seem to drag across an edge cut to get my traces inside the board perimeter… it is as if the edge cut is preventing the drag even though I’m heading into the square.

Can I turn off the constraint that prevents me dragging across an edge cut? Or is that not happening and I must be confusing myself some other way?

It may be possible, but why not just modify the edges temporarily? You could change the layer of the edge graphics

This is the only-drc of the router which prevents tracks going through an edge.cuts-shape. You could open the interactive router settings (board editor–>Route–>settings) and change to:

  • highlight collisions
  • allow drc-collisions

Thank you for your responses.

Excuse my ineptitude but how do I change the edges to say a drawing layer? Is there a quick way to do that?

Select the edge cut artefact(s), e or context menu to edit properties, change layer.

In v7 open View → Show Properties Manager if it’s not visible yet. Select the edge lines and change the layer in the Properties Manager.

Excellent. Thanks for the advice. Consider this answered.
