Drag track behavior

When I try to push a group of tracks using Drag track on the last track in the group, I can push them until something holds them back, usually a footprint. If I then let go, all of them immediately jump back to the original position. If I do not drag them to the very end, they stay.

I do like the push possibility, but find it somewhat annoying that this jump-back behavior occurs. It causes a lot of failed tries at least. Why cannot the tracks simply stay on the last allowed position? Am I doing this wrong?

“This bug also affects me”.

I do not know why this happens.
My best guess is that during the manipulation of the shoving a simple algorithm is used for speed, and if you release the mouse button a more thorough algorithm is used to check for DRC errors, and if it finds an error, the whole command is simply aborted and the tracks revert to their original position.
