Double-arrow on symbol pin in KiCad 9

Hi gang,

The multiple GND pin on one of my symbols has acquired a new double-arrow in KiCad 9:

Can anyone let me know how and why this gets added?

It indicate that the pad has an alternative function that can be choosen from the ‘pin funtions’ tab.
