Hello,
I really like using the sheet property fields in hierarchical sheets, to for example change values of resistors per sheet. I was wondering, whether there is an option to mark a specific component as do not populate, in a similar fashion? Specifically, I am after an option to set the new DNP attribute, I know that I could do a work around and use e.g. DNP as the components value, but I’d rather have an option where I can use this attribute.
What version are you using? Is the Do not populate symbol attribute in v7’s symbol editing dialog popup what you need?
Hi retiredfeline,
I am on 7.0.2, and do have the attribute field. When using it, it would DNP all occurrences of the respected components in all hierarchical sheets. This is not the behaviour I am after. I only want to mark one of the occurrences as DNP.
Using the sheet property fields, I can already define variables, such as R1 as X, per sheet. I can then place a resistor with value ${R1}, which will fetch the respective value from the sheet fields table. This allows me to have different values within the hierarchical sheet, without needing to place those resistors outside the hierarchical sheet. I am looking to do the same, but with the DNP attribute.
Ok I don’t know if DNP is a parameterisable attribute.
