Diode Placing is Weird

Hello! I am extremely new to KiCad (and PCB designing itself) and I was following a tutorial on making a keyboard pcb. I was placing a diode like the guy in the video did but I cant get it to the correct spot like he did

Change your grid to something finer.
At the top of your worksheet, in the middle, there is a small black triangle in the grid box. Click that.

His board is aligned to the grid slightly differently so when you place the component and it snaps to your grid it will also be slightly differently placed.

It looks like his grid is aligned to the board out line, you need to do the same.

In the PCB editor go to Place . Grid Origin and set the correct grid origin.

Hi @aidankim5

To do as @RaptorUK recommends, you need to have a fine grid, then select everything including the white rectangle and move the lot so your grid dots have the same spacing to the footprints and graphic lines as the video guy.
After that, change your grid spacing to match his grid spacing.
