I often like to document elements of a design in the schematic and the pcb layout. It would be helpful if there were additional ways to enter and edit text, tables, graphics, html in Kicad for this purpose.

The former is probably quite a bit of work. As an alternative / interim step, perhaps the ability to create the documentation elements in another app (Libre office, Word, Pages, etc) and then copy and paste it into Kicad would be helpful. At the moment, the work around I use to place a spreadsheet is to take a screenshot and then place that as a bitmap.

I also like to put some text info in a schematic.
My current workaround for table like information is to use a separate text field for each column
