I have a project that I have been working on for a few months. A while ago I decided to update a few components, and created a temporary column in the Symbol Fields Table where I kept a copy of the old component numbers.
When I had finished switching the components I deleted the column, but to my surprise the board maker could still se both columns with component numbers, and wondered which one is the correct one.
In my KiCad 9.0.5 Schematic Editor => Edit Symbil Fields I can only see the one column that I want to keep, and looking at the XXX_sch file in a text editor, the same is true.
However, with a text editor, I can see that both columns seem to be present in the XXX_pcb file. I cant find a way to modify this data from the PCB editor, so how can it be present in the XXX_pcb file?’
I do love KiCad, as it does most things right, but its not perfect…
