As far as the schematic goes you could drop the units designation and would anyone care as long as they are decimal?

I had actually made this same argument a while ago. AFAIR it was when metric grids were also available and people tried using them to disastrous (for connectivity) consequences. But my recollection may be off.

This is because the current schematic file format has 1mil as its base unit.

That makes sense. Too bad it ruined my joke.

I tried to delete the green wire. I changed the grid size to 50 and now everything works fine.

I changed the grid to 50 and reorganized everything. Now it works fine!
