Defining top or bottom layer for components in schematic

I am using ver. 4.0.7.

Version 4 is no longer supported. The current version is 5.1.5.
I suggest updating but you might want to read these first:

• I had KiCad 4 installed previosly. Now i updated to v5. Now i have some problems with the library setup
• Converting KiCad version 4 projects to version 5 (Remap a project)
