Is it still not possible to create custom power pin names? For example, I like to have all my power nets be named something like VDD_XXXVXXX. If I place a power object down and try to edit it I can’t edit the name field. Is there a way to give those nets custom names?
Do you try to do this in EEschema or the Symbol Editor?
Afaik I can do this in the symbol editor but it involves to roll my own library with my own power symbols 
I was trying to do it from withing eeschema. I’ll try it from within Symbol Editor.
If that’s how you have to do it, that’s a bit of a pain, especially for larger designs with multiple power domains.
You create custom power symbols or “ports” in the library editor. When you create a new component there is a check box “Create component as power symbol”. You can also edit the existing power symbols in the library. Make sure you save them to your own power symbol library.
Why do you prefix your names with VDD?
