Custom Libraries not visible when searching in Symbol Editor

OS: Windows 10
KiCAD Ver: 8.0.1
User: 2+ years in KiCad

OK, not sure what’s going on here, but I have a bunch of Custom Symbol Libraries, stored in:
C:\KiCad\Custom_Libraries\symbols

I have a path substition set up for these, and can see this if I go into Symbol Editor->Preferences->Manage Symbol Libraries
image

And if I scroll down to the bottom of the list, I can see all my custom libraries. The one I am interested in is the newly created Sensor_Light_1

All good so far.

If I go back to the Symbol Editor, and scroll down the list of symbol libraries, I can see all my custom libraries in the list. Again, all good. Here are all the Sensor_ libraries:

However, if I start typing the name of one of my custom libraries in the Filter box, none of them are visible.

This is what I get:

For some reason, my newly created Sensor_Light_1 library isn’t actually visible.

I’ve restarted KiCad a few times, but its not magically appeared.

Anyone able to explain what I’m doing wrong??

Mike

First try updating to the latest bugfix release of KiCad. I think I remember some things being fixed here, 8.0.1 is quite old at this point.
