Creation of slots in the top copper layer

How can I create individual slots in the top copper layer in KiCAD 7.0?
I need these slots to minimize eddy current losses in inductors used in voltage regulators. In other design programs are possibilities to do this kind of slots easily.
Target 3001 uses deletion layer. All graphic elements in this layer delete the copper of the related copper layer.

It would be O.K. to create it in the layout, but it would be even better if it is possible to do it in the footprint related to the inductor.

Example

PCB Editor / Place / Add Rule Area, or use the icon on the right side toolbar.

Works in both the PCB editor and the footprint editor, V7.0.x and V7.99.

Thanks a lot to paulvdh and straubm. I was thinking “keep out area” means to avoid the placement of footprints, tracks and so on.
But a closer look, thanks to your advice, I recognized now the checkbox “keep out copper fill”. That helps me enormous.
