Creating a solderable board

Hello everyone!

I would like to design and manufacture a tiny board that can be solderable. I’m thinking in something similar to HC-05 and ESP boards that have an outline with what seems to be cut connector holes.

I was wondering what is the proper way to achieve something similar to that. Any ideas?

Question about castellation

I am new to KiCad and I am creating a PCB with a screen (among other stuff like a few buttons). The screen is quite big but I want to keep the PCB at 100x100mm max. Will this work when I send the board imaged below to a board house? It looks weird but I don’t know how the manufacturing process works so I can’t judge whether it will work or not. So it seems this is called castellation and it is done by placing connectors that are later milled. I didn’t expect this because I imagined that the routing would rip the copper out of the PCB.

I will ask if this could be done by the people I usually order PCBs to.
