I am new here so maybe I am just missing it.
Can KiCAD produce a negative (Blk-Wht reversed) printout of a PCB layout ?
Need this to use as a mask for a backlit panel legends faceplate. Black background with white (clear) characters.
Is there a PCB layer specifically designed for this purpose ?

I don’t know about Kicad, but any simple photo app can make a negative of any bitmap image.
You can plot any of the layers to pdf (or several other formats) from the ‘File > Plot’ menu. The pdf output has an option for ‘negative plot’ which should achieve what you want.
