I’m wondering if it would be possible to have a button on the symbol fields editor window in EEschema that would export the field values table to BOM in CVS/HTML/XML or PDF format. That way, I know what my BOM is going to look like before exporting it.
Currently, with the PCBNew BOM export, you only get a limited selection of fields and with EESchema’s BOM plugins I usually don’t get the BOM that I was expecting (fields missing, out of order, missing values, etc…). If you could just export the current view from the symbol fields editor, then you know in advance what the BOM will look like.
In the meantime, I select all and copy/paste to excel, which works very well.
