Found a kicad_pcbbak file in the same directory, renamed it and it seems to contain a recent version. Ouff

Euhm, maybe start thinking about making regular backups?
Simplest way to make backups is to make zip archive of the whole project directory combined with the date in ISO8601 format.
A more elaborte way would use git or similar.
