Copper zone hatch pattern: is it possible to remove the outer frame?

Hello,
For aesthetic reasons, I’d like to be able to remove the outer frame of a 45° hatch pattern filled copper zone.

Something like this:

Typically, I’d like to have the copper zone (on the right) looking like the hand drawn version (on the left), without the outer rectangle.

Is it possible?

Thank you!
David

With the current available zone-parameter settings: no

I have the same problem. I’m creating flex pcb and I believe perpendicular outer frame line may cause overstress. Would be nice to have option to remove it…

I created an issue, in case you’d like to vote for it:

(Not sure if it’s the right way to do it though…)

I suspect that some internal algorithms in KiCad require that if a trace enters a zone from the outside, that it creates a guaranteed connection to the zone. Which wouldn’t be necessarily the case without the outline.
