KiCad version? Help->About KiCad->Copy Version Info
I have also noticed this (v5.1.6) sometimes it works others it doesn’t, a workaround is to run a track to the pads, then the zone will fill as expected.
This of course, assumes that the size of your track and clearances of your signals let the signal be routed (you will notice when you try to route it manually); don’t forget to refresh the zones, once you have run the tracks to see the results.
Hi ,
I’m using the kicad 5.1.5 version. Oh ok so i will try that.
Hi,
I think i have found the problem the problem. We have to set the pad Isolation option in Pad Properties. The Pad connection parameter is set to “None” and i changed it to “From Parent to footprint”. Please check the image. (Sorry my Kicad is in French)
Thanks!
That’s not itself the solution. It means that the pad uses the setting from the footprint of which it is part. The footprint has the same settings possibilities for zone connections. In this case you probably needed “Solid”. If it was “thermal” there wasn’t enough room to create a thermal connection between the zone and the pad.
Ok I see. That’s a general way to solve the problem you mean, right ?
It depends on what you need: do all pads of a footprint need the same kind of connection, or do you need to change the connection type for individual pads. If the same kind of connection for all pads is good, let the pads inherit the footprint setting and set it in the footprint level. Otherwise change it for the pad(s) which need different kind of connection.
I suppose you should change Copper Zone Properties:
With default settings zones don’t like to connect to my pads.
You can change to English before doing screen shot.
