Copper Fill to the Board Edge

Hello,

I would like to screw my circuit board to a screw that is connected to GND at the end. I don’t quite understand how I can realize what I want in Kicad. I have now created a copper polygon and created a keep out solder mask area. However, I always have the board clearance (which is defined in my design rules) which always gives such an unattractive result. What do I have to change so that I can have copper right up to the edge?

I think it’s in Board Setup > Design Rules > Constrains > Copper to edge clearance.
However that will change it everywhere. For just one place I’d probably make a custom footprint? Not sure what’s the best approach to that.
Also think about limits set by your board manufacturer. Usually a copper to edge clearance is required. If you make the copper right to the edge - they either notify you and ask to change it or will add their clearance.

The magic words to search for is: Edge plating.

And as far as I know, KiCad only plates THT pads (round or oval hole) (Resulting in “castellated pads”, you can search for that too).

Make an oval pad and cut it in half by putting half outside the board outline.
