Connector DIN41612 Type B - Even pins

Hello,

I’m brand new with Kicad and on this forum.

I want to start with a project where I will design Europe PCB (100*160mm) with End connectors for a 19" Rack.

I will use DIN41612 type B connectors (which I have at disposal).
I will use the standard 2 rows of 32 pins for which I found the Footprint in the libraries.
But I will also use the model where pins are existing only on even pins (a2,b2,a4,…).
I have found a footprint. But I can not associate it with the right symbol…

Could you help?
Thanks in advance.

In short: A footprint must be in a library, and you must add the library itself manually to KiCad.

Long answer:

Also:
KiCad has quite good editors for both schematic symbols and for footprints. Taking an existing standard symbol or footprint and modifying it a bit is often quicker then trying to find some (dubious quality) component on the 'net.

Thanks for your answer.

In fact, that’s how I managed to solve my problem.
I took an existing 32 rows and deleted the uneven pins.

This SW looks great.
Need to learn it.
