Hi,
is it possible to specify/set the number of connection traces created by the fill zones command on Ground plane pads? As an example, in the following snapshot I got four connection traces between GND pad and ground plane. This cause, at least for me, the soldering of the component sometimes difficult because of the wide copper zone to warm by the soldering iron tip. I suppose this is the reason …
Thanks
When you edit the properties of a zone, you can set the “Pad connections” and both the spoke width and the relief gap:
This influences the whole zone.
You can also select a single pad of a footprint, to override these settings.
If you set it to “None” for any pad, then you can just draw any normal copper track to make a custom connection.
Also:
Maybe have a good look at the soldering tools or technique you use.
The pad you show looks quite reasonable, and although the pads connected to a GND plane need a bit more time to heat up, the thermal relief should be enough to for soldering.
