I’ve a BGA footprint, on a four layer PCB.
I’d like to manually place blind via’s. But when I place the blind via it will not connect to the pad.
I have to open “Track & Via Properties” and assign the correct net in here.
I’m using the “add free standing vias” tool.
It works for through hole vias but not blind vias.
Any ideas?
First: See Help>About> Copy Version Info and paste that into your next post.
Second: If the BGA footprint is on the top layer, does the blind via appear on that layer? Or similar for the bottom layer. If the BGA footprint is on one of the middle two layers then we have other issues…
How do you place such a via?
I took one of my PCB’s, then:
PCB Editor / File / Board Setup / Board Stackup / Physical Stackup / Copper layers: 4
PCB Editor / File / Board Setup / Design Rules / constraints / Allowed features: Allow Blind & buried via’s
I thought those two settings should do the trick.
PCB Editor / Preferences / Preferences / hotkeys and then searching for “blind” does give some hints:
