Clearance Violation (netclass 'HDMI_100'(diff pair) clearance 0.2032 mm; actual 0.2mm

Hello Everyone,

I have routed tracks on PCB. For explaining what problem I am facing consider HDMI case. Defined the net class in the following way.

HDMI_100 0.15 mm 0.25 mm 0.45 mm 0.25 mm 0.3 mm 0.1 mm 0.1778 mm(DP Width) 0.2032 mm(DP Gap)

error message

Clearance Violation (netclass ‘HDMI_100’(diff pair) clearance 0.2032 mm; actual 0.2mm

I have routed the HDMI signal by clicking on “Route differential pair” in route menu.

So I am confused with following

  • It is showing clearance violation while comparing it with DP Gap

  • So is it like above the DP Gap it shows error ?

  • If I routed this using ki-cad tool why itself it is not maintained ?

  • Solution to my problem, what should I do so that this error goes

picture for reference :

Thanks

Your error message clearly states that it found a clearance that is 0.2mm, while it should be at least 0.2032mm. Is it possible you changed the differential pair gap after routing?

A possible solution is to just change the differential pair gap to 0.2mm. The difference is too small to be important.

Possibly the error also goes away is you simply delete the offending differential pair and route it again.

Also, what KiCad version are you using?
There was recently a bug in the KiCad-nightly V5.99 which uses the wrong clearance for differential pairs, but it should have been fixed about a week ago.

I have not changed.

yes this can be a solution.

Version : KiCad-nightly V5.99
Seems like the same issue you have attached.

Thanks
