I added some mounting holes and locked the footprints so I wouldn’t accidentally delete them when I updated the pcb from the schematic. Now I want to move them.
I can’t select them to unlock them.
When I do a block select that should include the locked footprints and right click, there’s no option to unlock.
How do I unlock a footprint once it has been locked?
So, I think where I needed to click to select the object wasn’t inside the mounting hole. I started clicking few 100 mils away and finally selected one of the locked footprints and unlocked.
I was fooling around with grid origin–maybe that footprint has a weird origin. I still haven’t figure out exactly what set grid origin does–clearly not what I expected.
About an year ago I had like that problems. Don’t remember exactly. Those time switching to Legacy toolset helped me. But now I have no such problems (5.1.5, Windows 7). When I press E for edit a footprint in opened window among others I can select between Free/Lock pads/ Lock footprint. The same with double-click.
