Cannot move the Silk screen Text / reference of Footprints in PCBnew editor

I was using KiCad 6.0 and was very happy with it and recently i upgraded to v7.0 and when i open the old(v6.0) project into new(v7.0). everything seem to migrate properly, but now i am facing a strange problem(may be my settings problem).
The problem is i cannot move the silkscreen text of the footprints, which was possible in v6.0. Because after putting footprints on the board, i need to adjust the placement of the silkscreen text for clarity.

I see that to move the silkscreen text , i have to go to ‘edit Footprint’ and then i am able to move the silkscreen text. But how can i do this for around 70 components on the board .

Any hints will be much appreciated.

Are you able to select the reference-designators? How is the setting of the selection filter (bottom left of screen?
