Cannot change default track width from 0.2mm

New Kicad user (ver. 8.0.6). When drawing a new track in PCBNew, the track width is always locked to 0.2mm.

Fixes I attempted:

  1. Used Board Setup to set three new track width presets and tried selecting one of these from the toolbar track width dropdown. I’ve not set a minimum track width design rule yet (still 0mm).

  2. Set the default netclass to use a different default track width in Board Setup and and tried selecting “use netclass track width” from the toolbar track width dropdown.

  3. Made sure that the “use existing trackwidth” toolbar button is not selected (gray instead of blue).

I can change the trackwidth of existing tracks easily enough, I’m just having trouble selecting different widths of new tracks. I would prefer to select one of the trackwidth presets from the dropdown rather than dealing with netclasses (at least for now). I’ve not been able to find a solution in online searching or searching in this forum.

Thank you.

Issue resolved. I was drawing a graphics line in PCBNew, not a track, my error.
