The title is not very clear. I am not sure how to describe this. I often have projects with repetetive circuits. In schematics it is easy to replicate parts using schematic sheets.
When I create the board. All things are already grouped togather. Which is a great addition.
But obviously I want to change the positions of the footprints. I currently am still doing everyhing by hand. What I would like to do, is position the footprints of a single group and push the relative distances to the other groups.
I did one group of footprints and I want all 8 groups to look like this. I don’t like doing this by hand because it is an abysmal amount of work and often you also slip in a mistake or two. That does not really hurt my designs but it is like a scratch on my artwork
I don’t believe this is possible yet. So I am curious what the best workarounds are?
The thing what pops in my mind just now, is do delete all other groups, copy past my good one and manually annonate the parts. This should also help with tracks.
In the schematic I guess you are using hierarchical sheets for the several instances of the same subcircuit.
Use the replicate layout plugin in the pcb editor.
Thank you for your answers. I installed the plugin and I am reading the manual. But I don’t know how I can just ‘run the plugin’. I use one other plugin and that one appears in the toolbar in PCBnew. This new one I cannot find anywhere.
